Annie Leibovitz: life through a lens

In the documentary, Annie Leibovitz: life through a lens, one statement in Annie's work stood out to me. In order to get the pictures you want, you need to do what is happening in the room, to fit in and be able to take as many photos as you want for the outcome you want. By doing this, Annie stated that her subjects would be more comfortable and the photos would come out the way she wanted because of the connection. It was interesting to hear how much time Annie would spend on a project and the people forgetting that she was there in order to photograph and just not be a viewer to their own work. It was also interesting to hear how many people Annie has worked with over time and some of her intimate photos as well that she portrayed - to be called a very shy nervous person in a room. It was also reassuring to hear about some of her "failure" moments throughout her journey in photography, made it clear that you can always keep learning and improving.
